UNIBETON opens environmentally friendly Concrete Production Facility for Jeddah in KSA

News

On 25th November, UNIBETON Ready Mix welcomed more than one hundred guests to the official opening of its new state-of-the-art concrete production plant in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The guests were welcomed by Dr. JR Gangaramani, President and Executive Chairman of Al Fara’a Group and Sheikh Abu Baker Al Hamedi, Managing Director of Saudi Bin Ladin PBAD.   Following which, there was a tour of the company’s extensive Research & Development Laboratories and the production plant involving its recycling facilities. This was followed by an impressive practical demonstration where the company’s special self-compacting concrete was pumped through a complex series of different types of formwork before being finally discharged into a large concrete slab. Throughout the process the concrete was fully compacted under its own weight. Following this, there was a presentation about the company and its innovative green and sustainable technology followed by a discussion and refreshments.

Unibeton was originally established in the UAE in 1980 and rapidly became the largest concrete producer in the Emirates with a capacity of about 10 million m³ of concrete per year. It then expanded into Saudi Arabia & Qatar. It was established over two years ago in Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, where it has four plants and is currently constructing the tallest building in Riyadh, the CMA tower in the centre of King Abdullah Financial District.

In Jeddah, UNIBETON has two high capacity fully-automated batching plants together with an extensive fleet. There is also a state-of-the-art recycling and water treatment plant. UNIBETON’s advanced concrete technology has resulted in its being the most sought after concrete supplier in the region.
